Swarm or established hive?
A swarm is a cluster of bees resting in the open, on a branch, fence, tire or eave, while scouts look for a new home. It has no comb yet. An established hive has moved into a cavity such as a wall, roof, tree hollow or irrigation box and is building comb.
Our own removal video shows a swarm balled up behind a shed on a tire, with no comb and no home to defend. We found the queen, put her in the box, and the cluster walked in after her.
What to do right now
